Touchdowns in a winter wonderland

The Roughriders spent their last home game in snow on Friday against the Hazen Bison.
The game started off with Southern McLean on offense, getting within thirty yards of the end zone before Hazen forced a turnover. The Bison would go on to score a touchdown during the possession. The Roughriders would answer that touchdown with one of their own. Senior Tate Bertolotto would run the ball 35 yards into the end zone. Quarter one would end with the score all tied up at 6-6.
Hazen got the ball back at the beginning of the second quarter, but they didn’t hold onto it for long. A fumble caused by junior Peter Olson would be recovered by him as well, giving the Roughriders an early chance to push ahead. After a few possessions, however, Southern McLean would be forced to punt.
The Bison would take all three of their timeouts in the last minute of the half, trying to ice out their opponent. They inched closer and closer to the end zone, pushing back against the Roughriders. With twenty seconds to go, the Bison were able to push through for a touchdown, and with the extra two points, they would lead the Roughriders 14-6 at the end of the second quarter.
