Southern McLean tops Hazen for third straight win
Southern McLean took the lead for good before halftime, and the Roughriders added some insurance points late on the way to a 22-6 victory over Hazen, Sept. 13, in Washburn.
It was the third straight win for the Roughriders, who improved to 2-0 in Region 4, and 3-1 overall, while Hazen dropped to 0-2 in the region, and 1-3 overall with the setback.
After forcing a punt on SM’s opening possession, Hazen mounted the first scoring threat, moving from its own 20 to inside the Roughrider 40. The Bison, however, were hampered by two costly penalties late in the drive, and they turned the ball over on downs at the SM 30.
