The Southern McLean Roughriders were coming off an emotional high after their commanding homecoming victory, but there wasn’t a whole lot of time to celebrate before they needed to take the field one more time.
Facing the end of their season, the Roughriders needed to outscore the New Salem-Glen Ullin Holsteins by fourteen points to earn a play-off spot in a rare Saturday afternoon game over the weekend.
Going with a different offensive look, Southern McLean took to the air.
At times it was successful, but with the team not very experienced in such a pass heavy game, they ended up with more than a fair share of turnovers and only managed one trip into the end zone in all four quarters. The turnovers were the biggest factor in the 22-6 loss.
For the first time all season long, the Roughriders came into a game at full strength.
