Southern McLean comes up short in Linton
BY OWEN PATTERSON
The Southern McLean Roughriders were on the road again Friday, this time a shorter drive south to Linton, where they fell to the home team by a 20-12 score.
As the defending 9-Man State champions, the Lions were also coming off an overtime win in Week
One entering the Aug. 27 showdown.
Picking up the action in the second quarter, Linton/HMB quarterback Trace King found Joseph Fode wide open in the end zone for the first points of the game. That touchdown would also be the first allowed by the Southern McLean defense in 2021.
