Scrimmage sets tone for regular season

In what amounted to a dress rehearsal for the fastapproaching regular season, the Southern McLean Roughriders practiced a varied assortment of plays during their Aug. 12 scrimmage
versus Nedrose.
Coach Beau Eriksson immediately called for a mix of 40 and 21-personnel packages out of which the offense executed perimeter runs, out routes and screens to get the athletes warmed up.
Both quarterbacks Will Koch and Alex Retterath received ample reps, with the latter distinguishing himself with nimble movement when rolling out of the pocket.
