Roughriders shine in state competition

The Southern McLean Roughridersteams represented their districts well in this year’s North Dakota State Cross Country Championships, held Friday Oct. 23.
The Lady Roughriders finished 16th in the Class B Girls Division, paced by Kari Going on now through Oct. 31 Patterson, who recorded the 15th best time (20:25) in her group.
Other team participants — listed in order of finish times — included, Brynn Hyttinen, Chev Obering, Grace Mehlhoff, Abbie Mehlhoff, Aubrey Steinert and Jordan Tooke.
Their male counterparts earned 10th place in the Class B Boys Division, as the Black and Gold were led by Ty Mehlhoff. His 18:51 finish ranked 51st.
Other notable finishes were registered by Owen Conoly, Owen Patterson, Andrew Mehlhoff, Jake Dahl, Lucas Gomulak and Quinton Conoly.
Wilton Public School sent out a “special thank you” to all competing seniors on its Facebook page, as they will be greatly missed.
