Roughriders heading to state track

Eight Southern McLean athletes are heading to State track this weekend after qualifying performances at the region meet in Bismarck, where Roughrider girls placed third.
Roughrider girls would just edge out Hazen at last week’s South Central Regional meet at Shiloh Christian, earning third place with a half-point advantage. Southern McLean girls would earn 69 points at the meet, while Hazen took 68.5. Carrington would place first with 181.5 and the host team would place second with 124.
Brook Tibke would be region champion in the pole vault and qualify for state in the event, while Nicole Horne placed sixth. Tibke would also qualify in the long jump after placing third.
Brynn Hyttinen took first in the 800 meter and second in the 400 meter, qualifying for state in both events.
Jordyn Thorson would take third in the 1600 meter, while Morgyn Miller placed eighth.
In the 100 meter hurdles, Tori Pfaff would place fourth, Horne would take fifth and Molly Jennings would place tenth.
