Roughriders hang on to defeat Heart River, 20-18
After becoming Region 4 rivals in 2011, the Southern McLean Roughriders added another win to the tally, making the record 5-8 against the Cougars.
Southern McLean made the journey west to Belfield to take on the Heart River Cougars on Sept. 6 where the Roughriders defeated the Cougars 20-18.
Both teams came into this contest having played two games. The Roughriders were at 1-1, after a big 46-12 win over the Nedrose Cardinals the previous game.
Heart River found themselves 0-2 after a tough loss to the Ray/Powers Lake Outlaws, 40-14.
The Roughriders prevailed 20-18 despite a second-half comeback by the Cougars.
