Region 5 Tournament Day One Recap

District 10 and District 9 went head-to-head in the first day of the Region 5 tournament held on Monday at the Mandan High School gym.
The results were strictly chalk with the higher seeds winning each of the evening’s four games.
First seed out of District 9, Shiloh, didn’t have any problems with fourth seed from District 10 Turtle Lake-Mercer-McClusky in the tournament’s opening game.
The Skyhawks’ Reagan Watson gave Shiloh a game-high 17 points as they put the distance between them and the Trojans early with a 14-2 first quarter.
Led by 10 points from Tasha Williams, TLMM couldn’t match the speed or aggressiveness of the Shiloh front court that had the Trojans doubled up for most of the game.
Shiloh defeated TLMM 66-36.
Next up was second seed from District 10 Underwood against third seed New Salem-Almont of District 9.
