Post 12 knocked down by Hazen

June 10 marked Post 12’s home game against Hazen. The first inning started with Post 12’s Trey Koski on the mound. Koski walked one batter before the pitches started hitting the strike zone. Despite Hazen’s best attempts and strong batting, Post 12 would get three outs before Hazen could score.
First to bat for Post 12 was also Koski. He had a strong hit to third base, but was thrown out at first. Following batters Landre Sondrol, Reed Backman, and Lyle Whitley would load the bases, but the inning would end with a 0-0 score.
The second inning was a rough one for Post 12 with five runs slipping through. Errors, both infield and outfield, led to the bases being loaded. One run was scored before the first out, and another four after that before Post 12 would end the streak. Hazen would then end the inning by getting Post 12’s next three batters out.
The third inning resulted in another run from Hazen, updating the score to 6-0. Post 12 was determined to hold them to this, however, and would get two of the next three batters out. When at bat, Koski was walked and using Sondrol’s out at one, made it to second base. The next two batters, Backman and Whitley, would get the second and third outs respectively.
The fourth and fifth innings were quick and defensive for both teams, with three outs being achieved without any runs scored.
