With the end of the regular season fast approaching and the Regional tournament right around the corner, the Post 12 American Legion baseball squad found themselves locked in a tight race for a high seed in said tournament.

Facing a determined Watford City crew on Tuesday, July 12, Post 12 made sure to bring enough pitching, as they easily took the first game by a score of 6-1, as winning pitcher Zach Zenker held down the Watford City bats. Meanwhile, Brandon Jenkins and Kolby Yantzer both would bring the lumber for Post 12, as each recorded two hits in the contest.

In the second game, pitcher Garrett Mosbrucker of Post 12, in an anything-you-can-do-I-can-do at-least-as-well moment, held Watford to no runs on three hits, as the Post 12 bats broke out in the game with Jenkins and Karson Backer each accounting for three runs.

On Thursday, July 14, Post 12 took on the Minot Metros. Once again, pitching was sturdy as Trevor Schreiner took the win in the first game, holding the Metros to 4 runs on 5 hits. The bats remained hot as well as the good guys would cross home plate 12 times in the contest. Kolby Yantzer accounting for 3 runs and Nolan Teigen, Backer and Zenker each tallying two.

In the second showing, Trapper Jacobs took the win for Post 12, as the Metros were held to 1 run on 3 hits. The hot hitting carried on into the evening as Post 12 tallied 11 runs on 8 hits. Jenkins and Backer each accounting for 3 of the runs and Kurt Dickhut and Jacobs tallying 2.
