The Washburn Cardinals took on the #9 ranked Parshall Braves Saturday in Washburn. The Cardinals had high hopes of beating the ranked Braves and playing solid.
The first half was characterized by fouls for each team which slowed the pace. Each team had runs in the first half with No. 22 Koby Hansen hitting two-threes in the second quarter. Parshall’s number 20 Deyondre Simpson also added eight points of his own in the second and the score was tied 26-26 going into halftime.
The Braves came out in the third quarter and defensively clamped down on the Cardinals holding them to only 10 points. The Cardinals were forced to take a timeout and the team looked to regroup after committing unnecessary fouls. The Braves sank their free throws, and took a six-point lead heading into the fourth.
