No surprises here – Fox wins

Southern McLean’s Kate Fox crossed the finish line 18 seconds ahead of her nearest competition, as the veteran harrier easily won the Minot Invitational Cross Country Meet this past Friday.
Fox’s finish was no surprise to her coach Laura Tweeten.
"It was not a surprise," said Tweeten. I expected her to win."
Fox was not leading the race the whole way, noted Tweeten, but that is Fox’s racing style.
Minot’s Abigail Hoffarth led for much of the race, but was overtaken by Fox down the stretch.
"She did what we asked her to do," said Tweeten. "She just kind of stays behind and when she feels it, she’ll go, she’ll just get out from behind and sprint it to the end."
