New grass infield in Washburn
By Erica Kingston, BHG Intern
Baseball is the sport of summer, but no games will be played on the Washburn high school baseball field this season. The field to the north of the school is getting a makeover as its dirt infield is being replaced with grass. “It’s a nice field already but it will be a very good field once it’s done,” said Brad Rinas, Washburn school superintendent and Washburn Baseball Infield Committee member. This project didn’t just happen overnight; a committee was formed, donations were raised and plans set in place with a lot of organization. Todd Schreiner got the ball rolling and formed the Washburn Baseball Infield Committee.
