The second season ever of Wilton-Wing Miners girls fast-pitch softball is officially in the books. The team finished their season with an 8-6 record and took third in the region, 6-2, losing out in the regional tournament on their bid to go to state.

According to head coach Trevor Yetterboe, "The girls improved all year, not just in their hitting and fielding, but also in understanding the game, which was great to see. We had one girl voted to the All-State Team and three girls make the All-Region Team. One player was (All-Region) Honorable Mention."

At the recent end-of-season awards night, several players were recognized for their achievements and received awards.

McKenna Weisenburger was voted to the All-State Team. Yetterboe noted she is the first Wilton-Wing Miner to be voted to All-State. "Hopefully, this is the first of many for this team," he said of the honor. Weisenburger was the team’s leader in batting average, hitting .500 with at least one hit in all but one game this year.
