Miners, Cardinals bypass play-in action
Washburn and Wilton-Wing boys are among the top five region teams who avoid play-in games and head straight into next week’s Region 5 tournament.
The Cardinals and Miners closed the season just high enough in the standings to secure a spot in the regional quarterfinals, set for March 6 in Bismarck. Wilton-Wing is seeded fourth in the tournament, just ahead of No. 5 Washburn.
Wilton-Wing ends their regular season with a 14-7 regular record and 7-3 region record. Washburn holds a 10-11 overall record and went 6-4 locally.
