Miner looking for full sets

The Miners came home Tuesday to face Shiloh Christian after spending the weekend down in Center. The Miners have been playing well but have dropped a few sets that they should have capitalized on. Shiloh came into Wilton with a 7-3 record, while the Miners were even at 6-6.
The first set for the Miners was going well with great placement of spikes and some timely digs. The tides turned when Shiloh’s serve got on track and they ripped off five straight points. The Miners were unable to corral many of the serves delivered by the Skyhawks, which had great pace and placement. They would pull within one but did not maintain the serve long enough to pull out the comeback with Shiloh winning the first set 25-21.
In the second set, Wilton came out strong going up by three to start. Shiloh would call timeout and get the side out after the break. Again the serve would hurt the Miners not only with aces but mishandled first touches that created chances for kills by the opposition. They would drop the second set 25-16.
