In the penultimate week of the regular season, the Wilton-Wing girls basketball team played a pair of home games against the Drake-Anamoose Raiders and the Underwood Comets.
It was a no-contest matchup against the Raiders as the Miners shot their way to their highest point total of the year in the 66-36 win. And despite dire foul trouble for their starters, Wilton-Wing got the job done in a not-always-pretty 51-45 victory over the Comets.
The Miners were in action against Drake-Anamoose for a rare Monday night game last week. And it was a game where the team was in rare shooting form as well.
Three players for the Miners combined for a total of eleven three-point shots that made their way through the net against the Raiders.
MaKayla Koski's sharpshooting led the effort by draining six of those long-range shots. Tonya Dickson was responsible for four and Brooklyn Vollmer finished it off with one of her own.
The long-ball scoring was responsible for exactly half of Wilton-Wing's 66 total points, and that statistic alone came close to outscoring their Raider opponent in the 66-36 final score; a result that was never in doubt across the game's four quarters.
