Lady Miners rise from slumber in 4th quarter

Wilton-Wing’s 52-49 over Standing Rock was hardly one for the time capsule that saw the local girls commit a comedy of errors for three quarters of the Dec. 21 showdown before authoring an unlikely comeback.
The Purple and White sleptwalked their way through much of the first quarter by finding new ways to turn over the ball on their early possessions, while the Lady Warriors jumped out to an 8-0 lead behind the exploits of senior guard Maddison Eagle (27 points).
The baby- faced sharp shooter sank two 3-point shots from opposite sides within less than a minute and later took advantage of the home team’s lax defense by penetrating the rim for her 8th point in under three minutes.
