Lady Miners overcome Comets

The Wilton-Wing Miner girls took a district win over the Underwood Comets Friday, with one Miner pulling out a total of four three pointers.
Scoring was close in the first quarter of Friday’s game in Underwood, with each team pulling out a handful of field goals to start off the game. Ashtyn Smith would make a three for the home team, while Kalyssa Schock made one for the Miners, and Comet girls would take a one-point lead into the second.
Fouls plagued the Comets in the second, sending the Miners to attempt nine extra points during the quarter, though fewer than half were successful. Once again, Underwood would outscore the visitors and take a 20-17 lead heading into half time.
