Lady Miners let it slip away

The Purple and White couldn’t maintain their mojo from an opening victory over Heart River in the West Sub-Region 4 tournament, as Beulah bested them 9-8 in May 18 the battle of the Miners.
The two teams engaged in a classic pitcher’s duel during the first four innings at the Wilton Softball Complex, as Taryn Schurhamer’s fastball was popping and Beulah’s Taylor Christiansen baffled the opposition by changing eye levels with her offerings.
Wilton-Wing’s of fense erupted in the 5th inning, with Hannah Fischer hammering a triple to tie the score at 2, followed by Kiara Johnson’s nubber down the first-base line resulting in two more runs at 4-2. Back-to-back doubles by Kalyssa Schock and Kesley Backman put Trevor Yetterboe’s group ahead 7-2.
