Lady Cards fueled by second-half surge

A grind-it-out first half that saw both the Cardinals and host Miners struggle to generate points gave way to an electric third quarter for the visitors that catapulted Washburn to 47-33 victory on Jan. 20.
The first quarter consisted of eight minutes of unadulterated follies with both sides trading turnovers, as they combined for six points.
Sophomore Monica Goven showed a lot of spunk in the early going by recording a putback for the first points of the game, while also applying pressure up and down the court.
