Lady Cardinals win season opener against Beulah
The Washburn Cardinals girls basketball team is starting the season out strong by defeating their first opponent of the season – the Beulah Miners.
For the opener, the Lady Cardinals welcomed the Lady Miners, which resulted in a 63-33 victory for Washburn.
The Cardinals took the lead from the first quarter, and never game up. Washburn scored 23 points to Beulah’s 13 the first quarter, and added an additional 13 points the second quarter to the Miners’ 2 points, leaving the Cardinals ahead at the half 36-15.
