The Southern McLean Roughriders embarked on their first road trip of the 2022 season Friday. The Week Two matchup was the first in co-op history between the Roughriders and the Kenmare/Bowbells/Burke Central Honkers. A physical game yielded a 22-8 result in
favor of KBBC. The first quarter went by in a flash. The Honkers tried to establish a run game with numerous handoffs to senior running back Diontrea Anderson. Southern McLeanʻs defense was strong enough to contain the powerful Anderson. The Roughriders only got the ball once on offense in the opening frame and went a ways backward before forward, leading to a punt. The action picked up in the
second quarter with the first exciting play of the game being a Kenmare punt.
