Holsteins hold off Miners
Wilton-Wing’s regular season closed with a single-point loss Monday as the New Salem-Almont Holsteins dodged a late-game comeback from the Miners. The Holsteins hosted Wilton-Wing Monday night for a Region 5 counter and the final game of the regular season for both teams. New Salem-Almont got a nearly lead in the first quarter and grew it to more than 10 by half time. Wilton-Wing picked up speed in the second half, gradually making a dent in the Holstein lead and bringing the game back to single digits. The Miners piled on three pointers and closed things up, but NSA would keep just ahead, and hold of Wilton-Wing for a 38-37 win.
