Hazen rallies for win over Wilton-Wing
Hazen rallied from a double-digit deficit in the first half to pull out a 46-40 victory over Wilton-Wing, Dec. 20, in Hazen. The Miners fell to 2-3, while Hazen improved to 2-4 on the season.
Claire Leidy’s free throw late in the first quarter gave WW a 10-9 edge at the end of the frame, but after Hazen’s Macee Smith tied it up (10-10) with a free throw at the 7:24 mark of the second quarter, Sophia Krush and Savannah Fischer canned three-pointers for WW, and Krush added a field goal to give the Miners an 18-10 lead with three and a half minutes left in the first half.
