Golf season continues for Southern McLean

The Southern McLean golf program is off on its winter-shortened and still very damp season, having been to a handful of meets on both the boys and girls side. Southern McLean golf coach Phil Hentsch acknowledges that late snow has shortened their available time on the golf courses, but the golfers have still been hard at work, “We are young, but we’ve been improving now that the season has gone forward.” The golf team’s sole senior and inspiration to all the up-and-coming golfers is Jeff Rasmussen. Although Rasmussen took first place in their very first meet of the season by shooting a 78, it has been an up-and-down year for him so far. “He had two tough outings where he hasn’t scored as well as he would have liked,” said Coach Hentsch.
