Fox, Waloch All-Region runners

The Southern McLean Roughrider girls placed seventh at the West Region Cross Country Meet this past Saturday as sophomores Kate Fox and Abi Waloch paced the team with sixth and tenth-place finishes, both garnering All-Region honors.
Senior Tienna Johnson was also nominated for Senior Athlete of the Year, one of three from the West Region. The winner will be named at the state meet Oct. 26 at Valley City.
Killdeer won the girls’ title, followed by Shiloh Christian and Beulah-Hazen.
Watford City’s Asha Smith won the meet with a time of 15:03 in the 4K race, beating second-place finisher Symbria Bell’s second-place time by 30 seconds. Southern McLean’s Kate Fox placed sixth with a time of 16:09, and Waloch grabbed the 10th place finish with her time of 13:38.
