Although the weather isn’t shaping up to be the greatest this spring, girls in the Wilton and Wing communities have been keeping warm while practicing fast-pitch softball.
According to Trevor Yetterboe, head coach, there was a need for it in the community. He said, "Parents and students were interested in starting up a fast-pitch team, as a way of giving the girls more options than just track and golf for spring sports."
There are 19 girls on the team, consisting of youth from both Wilton and Wing. Their season officially began on Tuesday, although the weather has caused some postponement of games. The girls will play two games per week, with six games of the season being played at home.
