Despite early struggles, Cards come through
It wasn’t always pretty, but it sure was “refreshing” according to Washburn girls basketball coach Jarod Obering. The Cardinals needed six quarters of basketball to fire up their offense, and when they did, it led the team to grab their first win of the season. Washburn and Wilton were hosts this weekend to the McLean County Shootout, a two-day event showcasing area schools. On Friday, the action got started with some much-anticipated games in Washburn. Garrison defeated a Beulah team dealing with injuries and Central McLean sent a message to the state after easily handling fourthranked Bowman County.
