Cardinals tip Holsteins
The Washburn Cardinal boys loaded up the bus Friday night and headed south for a regular season-ending tilt against the Holsteins of New Salem-Almont. The gym’s atmosphere was hopping as both teams looked to build momentum heading into the upcoming Region 5 tournament.
The Redbirds came out gunning in the first quarter, as some timely shooting and an active defense posted the Cards to an early 14 to 9 lead. But the Holsteins would stampede back into the action, riding the hot hand of big man Wyatt Kuhn as the first half ended with NS-A holding a 28-25 lead.
