Cardinals start season undefeated at 4-0
The Washburn boys basketball team is starting with a winning streak this season going 4-0 after winning at home against Grant County.
The Cardinals welcomed Grant County/Mott-Regent on Jan. 2 to Washburn, which resulted in another win beating the traveling team 84-57.
“We got into foul trouble early which contributed to us being more hesitant on defense with or traps,” said Coach Josh Sharp. “It also prevented
us from contesting like we normally do. I thought we adjusted to the foul trouble. They are a team that really does not quit which made us have to constantly stay at our best.”
Putting up a fight, the Washburn coach said the team battled with MCMR’s Freidt who does “really nice things” with the ball.
