Cardinals roped by Cowboys

Washburn boys put up a fight against Killdeer this week as the Cardinals played their second home game of the week. Fresh off a game against Hazen on Dec. 19, Washburn would again play host on Dec. 20, this time to the Killdeer Cowboys. Washburn would trail slightly behind the Cowboys at the start of the game, with Killdeer pulling a 15-9 win in the first. The Cardinals would work to close that distance in the second, out-scoring the Cowboys by a single basket to head into half time with Killdeer up 27-23. The Cowboys heated things up in the third, shaking up the home team and growing their lead to nearly 20 points.
