Beulah Blanks Roughriders in Washburn

Friday marked the first varsity football game in Washburn since August 19. This weekʻs game didnʻt end up with the same result as the season opener way back when, with the Southern McLean Roughriders losing to Beulah, 32-0. The Roughriders got the ball first and were stopped on fourth down in plus-territory for Beulah. The Miners then set the tone for the game by running the same play five times consecutively, eventually scoring the opening touchdown. Beulah running back Mason Mellmer took the direct snap from the center
on each play and cut his way through the Roughrider defense for 30 yards on five carries.
