Ball Burners third at state

A Washburn-based womens softball team took third at state competition this month, finishing 8-2 in the tournament and 22-1 in their overall season.
The Katie Kulzer Photography/Ball Burners beat all but one opponent in tournaments this year, falling to the same team in both the McQuades and State tournament, both held in Bismarck. The all-womens team took first in their league and third place at McQuades earlier this summer.
The Ball Burners placed third at state during the August 5 and 6 Rec 3 division tournament at the Cottonwood diamonds, finishing their regular season 22-1 and ending with a tournament record of 8-2.
