It is weeks like this that prove the mental fitness is just as big as physical fitness in the sport of track and field as athletes can never be sure of what conditions they are going to be asked to perform in.
Hitting the road again for a pair of meets last week, the Southern McLean Roughrider track team attended the Badlands Conference meet on May 1 and then to Bismarck on May 5 for the New Salem Meet.
