Washburn Public School’s 5th and 6th graders proved that there’s never a shortage of innovative concepts on display at their annual March 3 science fair in the new gymnasium.
From kids using water bottles and plastic plates to generate electricity to others demonstrating how solar power works, students engaged spectators in explaining the basis and results of their gizmos, contraptions and experiments.
“The parameters are they get a couple of months. We do the planning and they come up with an idea that has to be approved by me,” described science and social studies teacher Randall Hanson.
