WEADA wraps up community plan

With survey results tallied and focus group sessions completed, Washburn leaders have penned a preliminary community plan for the city and its civic groups.
The Washburn Area Economic Development Association, in conjunction with Civic Club, the City of Washburn and StrengthenND, have created an initial community plan for Washburn, which starts with forming a non-profit organization to head community and economic development efforts.
The plan, produced after conducting a community and business survey earlier this year and hosting 10 focus group sessions, sets two goals to meet by Sept. 30 of this year. One is to establish a 501c3 nonprofit that will serve as a new, joint community organization that would replace both WAEDA and Civic Club.
