Officials are tracking for construction of the Red River Valley pipeline project, which may draw from the Missouri River near Washburn, to begin in Spring 2020.
Though the exact route of the $1.19 billion Red River Valley Water Supply Project has not been finalized, the start date for construction is becoming more clear, with groundbreaking for the project expected in six to nine months.
The 72-inch pipeline will deliver water from central North Dakota to the Red River Valley in the east part of the state. The pipeline would carry water 165 miles east to Lake Ashtabula.
Construction on the project is expected to begin in Spring 2020, though one key decision has not officially been made.
