Washburn grad opens chiropractic clinic

When she was a little girl playing make-believe, Dr. Ashley Wagner wanted to be a medical doctor and deliver babies. She was in the middle of studying for her MCATs when her dream shifted. As a nurse at Mercy Hospital in Valley City, she saw the hectic lifestyle that the OB/GYNs lived with and she determined that it wasn’t for her. "I just decided I did not want that lifestyle," Wagner said. "I want to be there for my kids more often." So, the Washburn native, whose maiden name is Ashley Disselle, changed directions. A fluke injury helped influence her career path. Wagner gained respect for chiropractic care after she threw out her back trying to push her car out of the snow.
