WAEDA makes offer for new director
By Michael Johnson, Editor
The Washburn Area Economic Development Association decided they would seek to contract Gary Satern as an economic development consultant. If he accepts they suggested he might start work April 1. Satern visited with the group several weeks ago, shortly after the resignation of the groups director, Karen Hansen. He said he would be interested in the position and offered his resume and a contract at that time. Since then the board invited him back to further talk about his contract. They then decided that at this point it was in their best interest to hire someone on a one-year basis as they are in the middle of reorganizing and planning. Board president Luke Retterath recommended a consultant or contracting service. The position was never opened up to the public, but the board was impressed by Satern’s willingness to come to them.
