WAEDA director resigns

After two and a half years, Washburn’s economic development director is hanging up her hat.
Economic Development and Marketing Director Tana Larsen submitted her resignation letter to the WAEDA board during its meeting Monday, after giving her verbal resignation last week.
Larsen said she has taken a new position at RDO in Washburn and her last day will be Feb. 27.
Joe Sheldon made a motion to approve Larsen’s resignation, with Tony Thoreson providing a second. The motion passed unanimously.
“I don’t blame her with everything going on, having to fight for her position every year,” Donna Sommer said.
Larsen said she was happy to help in any way possible during the transition.
