There’s a new deputy auditor in town

Longing to get back to her "true roots" in bookkeeping and accounting, Sharon Hendrikson recently applied for the position of deputy auditor for the City of Washburn.

The board of commissioners thought she was a perfect fit, appointing her to the position during their August 11 meeting. Her first day of employment was the following day.

She said, "I’m thankful the commissioners picked me, and have faith in me, to hopefully do a good job for them and the city."

Hendrikson brings many years of experience to the table, with 11 years under her belt at Rodenburg Law Firm in Bismarck.

She worked her way up the ladder, starting as a receptionist, then bookkeeper and ended her employment with the firm as a collector.

With her almost-5-year-old daughter, Kathryn, starting school, Hendrikson was looking for a job that would keep her closer to home, and her family.
