Theater group presents murder mystery

Washburn senior Nick Due loves to go head-to-head against the competition. Not on the playing field, though, rather on the “play” field. Due took on the role of Lt. Dan in the Washburn High School theater department’s presentation of Murder in the House of Horrors, the school’s fall production. While he loves participating in the fall production, he is even more anxious to compete in the upcoming one-act play, which begins rehearsals as soon as they close the curtain on Murder in the House of Horrors. “I really like the fall play because it’s good preparation for the one-act,” said Due. He likes the fun involved with the fall production, but the one-act play offers a little more. “The one-act is actually competitive, and you’re working toward something. I like the competition. I’m a very competitive person.” “He’s the speech ‘god’,” commented theater patron Judy Kroh, as she passed by, congratulating Due on his performance Sunday afternoon.
