Tech Sgt. reminds students of serving
By Michael Johnson, Editor
‘Twas the day before Thanksgiving and all through the school, were giddy little children that could hardly sit still. Until enters Tech Sgt. Zach Miller who made them all stare. Maybe it’s the uniform or the great stories that he never runs out of, but whenever Miller, a flight engineer with the US Air Force, comes to see the students at Washburn School they listen intently and ask questions until he absolutely must go. While on vacation for a couple weeks in Washburn, Miller decided to drop in and say hi to his friends in the second grade who are always happy to see him. Miller first presented the children and the school a box containing an American flag that had been flown over Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom. Miller said wherever he goes, he keeps a bag full of American flags with him. Of course, the students wanted to know the best stories Miller could think of and he told them a few that he thought would express to them just what is happening overseas.
