Taxable sales divided

Taxable sales figures in McLean County are split for the second quarter of 2015.
Information provided by the State Tax Department shows second quarter taxable sales for McLean County fell 5.05 percent.
For the second consecutive quarter, Washburn saw its taxable sales slip more than 11 percent, decreasing for April, May and June by 11.41 percent. In the first quarter, Washburn's taxable sales was down 29.15 percent.
On the other hand, Garrison taxable sales stayed near the same, increasing a modest 0.39 percent. First quarter taxable sales for Garrison was down 1.96 percent.
The 2015 second quarter taxable sales and purchases report reflects a slowdown in activity for some industry sectors. Taxable sales and purchases were $5.901 billion for April, May and June of 2015, a drop of 16.07 percent over those months in 2014.
