Streets could be fixed for a price
By Michael Johnson, Editor
The community has been asking for major improvements to the city streets and a plan to fix most has finally come together, for a cost of about $4 million. The plan would make major improvements but would not fix all problem areas. The plan, as outlined on Oct. 15 at the last regular city commission meeting, includes improvements to: •4th Avenue, $2,370,000 •8th Street (4th Ave. to 6th Ave.), $370,000 •Border Lane and Northgate Road (truck route), $427,000. This project includes a complete street reconstruction in order to create a driving surface rated to handle the semi traffic from Enerbase Agronomy and Enerbase. •Northgate Road (Jennifer Drive to existing concrete), $399,000. This includes pavement replacement.
