Roehrich’s Hardware is now Scott’s Hardware

Bill and Claudia Scott are the new owners of Roehrich’s Hardware, which is Scott’s Hardware as of Oct. 18. Marcy and Pat Roehrich sold the business after they owned and operated it for 26 years. In selling something that has been an important part of their lives for so long, the Roehrichs took the time to get to know the Scotts before selling. Though the Scotts are from Missouri, the couples actually met before the Scotts had any intention of buying the Roehrich’s hardware store. Much of Claudia’s family is from Turtle Lake, so when the Scotts were traveling through from a reunion and were in need of some mechanical help, someone got them in contact with Pat on a Saturday evening and he had them on their way in short order. When they came back through over a year ago, they stopped in at the hardware store without knowing it was for sale, and spent the next year figuring out how to buy the place. Marcy said they have been considering selling the hardware store for five or six years.
