Region VII drama champions

"Nearly flawless" and "Several lines gave me the shivers" were just a couple of the comments jotted down by judges following the Washburn Drama Club’s recent performance of "Asylum" at the Region VII One-Act Play competition in Hazen.
The actors and actresses, stage crew and directors weren’t bluffing when they brought the Regional First Place Champion title and plaque home to the Washburn School the evening of Nov. 12.
Director Vickie Mayer said, "I am extremely proud of our cast and crew. They are a very dedicated group."
She said the actors and actresses were "instrumental in developing their characters" and Mayer wasn’t the only one who thought so. "The whole cast stayed in character the entire time" and "I cried with the character" were additional comments made by the judges at the competition.
