Project calendar extended

Some road work may need to wait until warmer temperatures return, possibly pushing the October completion date for some of the 2016 fall projects into the spring of 2017.
Jasper Klein of AE2S Engineering spoke at Monday’s Washburn City Commission meeting, advising the commission that the sidewalk project would likely not be completed until spring.
“I got a call requesting that they do the additional sidewalk projects in the spring,” Klein said.
Klein said the construction crews wanted to focus on getting the main project completed and had been set back already by inclement weather.
President of the commission Larry Thomas said he didn’t see an issue with waiting on that portion of the project, as long as the prices are honored.
